Tips on How to Move a Blogger Blog between Google Accounts

One thing that is common among many Google users is that they own multiple accounts. It is not illegal to do so, but in most cases it is unnecessary, especially after Google organized its products such that most (if not all) are accessible though a single account. For bloggers, it is not fun to have multiple blogs in separate Google accounts. Fortunately, you can use this trick to move a blog (hosted on Blogger) between separate accounts.

The trick involves making the blog a team blog, with two members, then removing the original team member.

Step 1: Sign in to Blogger with Account 1, which we'll assume is the account containing the blog.

Step 2: Go to the "Permissions" section under Settings | Basic tab.

Step 3: Click the Add Authors button and send an invitation to the owner of Account 2, the account to which you'd like to move the blog.

Step 4: Wait for the owner of Account 2 to accept the invitation. If you're sharing a computer, you'll need to sign out of Account 1 first, or each use a different browser.

Step 5: Once Account 2 has joined the blog, Account 1 can sign in again and go back to the Settings | Basic tab.

Step 6: Click the drop-down menu next to Account 2 and choose "Admin."

Step 7: Click the X next to Account 1 to remove Account 1.

NOTE:

• You'll still see any posts made on the blog by Account 1 with Account 1's display name. Account 2 can delete and repost these posts if they'd like to change the display name.
• Account 1 cannot be removed until Account 2 has admin rights, since every blog must have at least one admin member at all times.
• Photos uploaded with Account 1 will break if that account is deleted. If you want your old photos to display after adding Account 2, you'll have to leave Account 1 active.

Merging Separate Google Accounts

Perhaps you have read a luring article about merging Google accounts and then spent the whole night trying to do that unsuccessfully. Well, the truth is that it is not currently possible to merge separate Google Accounts. Nonetheless, as Google has pointed out in (Managing and using Google products), you can transfer data from one account to another on a per product basis. It is also advisable that if you want to use any Google product including Blogger, YouTube, Drive and Gmail, simply sign in with your existing Google Account, and chose a product from a listof products offered by Google. In case you do not have Gmail, you can add it to your Google account easily; Signing up for Gmail and failing to add it to your existing Gmail account results in two separate accounts. Also note that Google prevents you from adding  an existing Gmail username even if the account associated with the Gmail has been deleted. In other words, you can’t reuse a Gmail username.
